@nut_meggy A lot of our “dirt” is “ice” and a lot of it is far from anywhere that’s economically attractive. I can build cheap houses in rural Manitoba, but people won’t buy them unless there are “jobs”. That’s why people want to live in Calgary or Toronto, but not Weyburn.

this is an extremely dumb line of thinking. the more you sprawl across our vast "dirt", the more services, utilities, and infrastructure needs to be built out and the more we, as taxpayers, have to pay. taking up more "dirt" is the most expensive way to build more homes.

@TomStringham @RichardHanania If you read up on MAID, you’ll see that’s a caricature of how it works. But I think the bottom line is the one between “fully informed consent” and whim. In many cases, there is also a 90 day waiting period to insure that the final decision is a product of careful deliberation.
