if you’re a writer in writer’s block, one also plagued by the pervasive societal virus of “no days off”, having a day off is actually the way to go. your body might feel fine and your mind clear, but this only fuels the illusion that you’re fine when you’re at-core not, cornering you into believing that the only reason you can’t write is that you have lost your literary powers, thus spiralling you further into doomsville. I wouldn’t have been able to get the words out of my brain yesterday to write this tweet. I thought I was fine yesterday. I was not. I rested a bit today, I returned to baseline. to unblock, down a generous dose of anti-think.
