My stepbrother is currently camping, after losing his home in London. He doesn't have any equipment, but had to buy a cheap tent as sleeping on the beach is pretty rough.
He's gone down to the south coast, where he grew up, to be near and support his father whose health is suffering now he's in his 80s.
He's out of work, so no way to get a flat because you need 30 x the rent as yearly salary to get into private rented accommodation.
Wealden District Council are not interested in helping him find a home.
Eastbourne Borough Council are not interested in helping him, either.
If he had arrived on a boat, he'd be sleeping in a hotel by now, and being given three meals a day and free wifi for his brand new phone.
Something's broken, isn't it?

Nigel Farage and Reform UK are facing a relentless, coordinated assault from the establishment, the media and the uniparty.
They are terrified of the movement we have built. Terrified of the millions who are demanding real change. Terrified that their grip on Britain is finally being broken.
The left may believe they have won.
They have not.
Nigel Farage will not be broken. Reform UK will not be destroyed. And this movement will not be stopped.
We will come through this stronger, fiercer and more determined than ever.

I was beyond disgusted to find a Labour MP had used the Berlin Islamist terror attack to point fingers at GB News.
She didn’t even once acknowledge Islamist extremism. Not once.
These people are the problem in Europe, their politics is parasitic and is grounded in gaslighting.
GB News@GBNEWS
'Rather than addressing the serious Islamist problem we have, the left would rather gaslight and make others the problem, all to suit their political agenda.' @AlexArmstrong hits back after Labour MP Kate Osborne suggested GB News was to blame for the Berlin Pride attack.

'Saying no should not earn a young woman a punch in the face, and throwing that punch should earn a man more than six months and another night in Britain.'
@DarrenGrimes fumes after an Eritrean asylum seeker was jailed for punching a teenage girl who rejected his advances.

After Bob almost died last weekend I decided to donate monthly to this man's charity organization
He does brilliant work
Niall Harbison@NiallHarbison
In the end he had dignity, comfort and lots of love. It was only 6 days but he meant a lot to us all. Very sad this evening as I had big plans for Bear. Proud of the team as always. Give your own dogs an extra cuddle today

An Afghan asvlum seeker (Abdul Barkeeh Salihi sexually assaults a 14 year old schoolgirl and another woman in London...and walks away with a £400 fine.
No prison. No deportation. Just a slap on the wrist.
This is what happens when a country loses the will to protect its own people. Soft justice. Open borders. Zero accountability.
British girls should never have to fear being assaulted while visiting a market in their owr capital city.
The system is broken. The public knows it. The only question is how much longer we're going to put up with it. Our judicial system is bollocks.
