Things you ought to know about long-term sick leave but don't: You may go stir crazy after few days. You, being home, messes with other family member's routines. Resentment builds quickly resulting in arguments/ tension. Your needs differ dramatically to theirs. It's not easy.

@AlexJQuigley It’s crazy my son has done 26 exams I think. Geo, Hist, French, German, combined sci, English, maths, RS. Did English Lit last year thankfully

My eldest is doing her three GCSEs in Chemistry, Physics and Biology. It has brought home, in a very real way, that the specification is massive. Just MASSIVE! It’s like they’ve been designed without realising that there are a big bunch of other GCSEs to do too!

@MartinSLewis @pollymackenzie How about treating children like workers. They get x days leave a year and can take it when they like apart from exam weeks. Schools are only closed on Bank Holidays, but are sufficiently staffed to operate within the rules. Same leave entitlement and rules apply to all staff.

@TheHEcTeacher @MartinSLewis @pollymackenzie Totally agree. We are currently recruiting 12 teachers will be lucky to get half that. Can’t get supply for love nor money. Glad my kids are nearly finished with school but I worry for my niece aged 2- who will teach her ?

@MartinSLewis @pollymackenzie As teachers were NOT babysitters. This is the perfect resolution if you want more teachers to leave the profession. However that shouldn’t be an issue as there are loads of willing & able candidates out there to replace us.

@TeacherBusy We can’t do everything for them. My son’s school don’t offer much after school revision and get strong results. Kids need to take own responsibility

Shout out to any other teachers and HODs feeling like they’ve not done enough because they aren’t in school doing last minute sessions with kids this weekend. Teacher Twitter is great but goodness it plays on insecurities sometimes when you see what others give up.

So @TicketmasterCS @takethat @AOArena it is now Wednesday and I still do not have my tickets for Saturday and Sunday it is not good enough you are quick to take the money, but to allocate new seats for the replacement venue no it is not good enough.

@TicketmasterCS I paid £200 for seats at Co-Op live and my new seats for concert yesterday 7/5 were seats that are not usually used due to the fact you can’t see. My view was obscured and I would like a refund.

With Take That’s shows moving to a new venue with a different layout, new seating locations may vary but are as close to the original seats as possible. Refunds are available by request and the team is available if you need any information, please reach out via your Ticketmaster account.
