@RewildScotland @Kelvinpate1 @ecoevoenviro @DavidJarrett4 Wader conservation is extremely complex. It's clear that some sheep damaged wader nests (particularly during the 2022 breeding season) but we do not understand why and we have no evidence to suggest that it is a significant driver of wader decline. More research is needed.

@LockettRichard I agree but having to be shut in an office for the rest of the week wrestling with those ridiculous grazing plans does not fill me with joy 🤣

Last AECS survey finished today (a bit close to the deadline). Makes a nice change from doing these in February sleet blizzards.

Worth a read - hadn’t really thought about it like this before
The Bee Guy@the_beeguy

So let’s talk about #honeybees in the context of ‘Saving the Bees’. Let’s cut the bull & cut to the chase as there’s way too much confusion/misinformation out there which is a hinderance to & detrimental to genuine bee saving. Please #retweet to help the bees that need it! 1/17

Scots Gaelic speakers of Twitter, can you help me with a translation of “Coire nam Bò Dubha”? Hoping it’s to do with cattle (black cows?) but probably wrong! @LawroNCB #Gaelic

This lamb is what we call a Ferdy (fake Herdy). Ewe is a Herdwick, white face. Tup was Texel, white face- but when crossed they produce this 🤷🏼‍♀️ Aren’t genetics weird!

@EdinvaleFarm That’s just based on those claiming who had carried out testing in 2022 when scheme launched. Knowing how many samples we’ve had through our office in the last few months 2023 uptake will be much higher

Is it me or does this seem quite a low uptake? Quite a useful intervention that gives useful data. Maybe most businesses are already "on it" so didn't need it?
