Imagine if we could all agree that hungry people should be fed. Homeless people should be housed. Sick people should receive medical care. If basic needs were guaranteed and taken care of, society would be healthier and happier.

Just so we all understand: When someone tells you "Merry Christmas" instead of Happy Holidays, what they really mean is their God is more important than your freedom of religion.

On the “other” platform I get 10-20x times more impressions than here. It’s frustrating that my home platform has practically sacrificed any meaningful value in followers just to chase virality.

Padre Pio’s wounds, his sufferings, were Christ’s. They made him holy, beautiful, a light to all. They didn’t make him bitter or aggressive—not wicked, but a saint. So, what about your wounds, your sufferings? Can you say they are Christ’s? Do they make you bitter or beautiful?

When you meet the Lord, He will not ask about the Constitution or your debates. He will ask: Did you live the Beatitudes? Perform the works of mercy? Love God and neighbor? All else is propaganda—only love endures.

Now that Charlie Kirk’s murderer has been identified and the truth is coming out, my toxic Facebook feed has quieted way the hell down. The silence speaks volumes.

@Joeinblack I blocked one guy who laughed at my post about prayer and then another guy called me a white nationalist whore then blocked me. Weird. Whatever.

At the least, may this senseless assassination occasion self-assessment. If you feel glee, happiness, the need to post something snide, or if you have anything other than profound sadness for this human being and our country, then seriously, you’re profoundly part of the problem.

Just prayed for the repose of Charlie Kirk’s soul and my desk lamp went out as I said amen. Rest in peace

@kenklippenstein Many university scholarships in these fields are available. Also, the US provides free education for children and teens. You do not have to be rich to go to school in the US. What a bizarre thing to say.

Saying someone lacks empathy because they are opposed to trigger warnings in books is boorish, self-entitled and uncalled for. Trigger warnings actually increase anxiety, hinder coping and are counterproductive to healthy mental growth. The world is a complex and complicated place as is life. You develop a taste in literature and films by reading and watching to figure out what you like and don't like. We are not supposed to live in cotton wool with everything spelled out for us in advance.

trigger warning discourse circulating yet again. all i'll say is that it takes zero effort to flip past a page with a tw list if that isn't something you care about. if you're vehemently opposed to the use of a tw list in a book, you're lacking in empathy

People... Think before you react. It is NOT a good idea to encourage people to violently resist a home invader or robber. ***That's how people get killed.*** Your best self defense is COOPERATE, DON'T RESIST AND WAIT FOR HELP TO ARRIVE.
