Saying someone lacks empathy because they are opposed to trigger warnings in books is boorish, self-entitled and uncalled for. Trigger warnings actually increase anxiety, hinder coping and are counterproductive to healthy mental growth. The world is a complex and complicated place as is life. You develop a taste in literature and films by reading and watching to figure out what you like and don't like. We are not supposed to live in cotton wool with everything spelled out for us in advance.

trigger warning discourse circulating yet again. all i'll say is that it takes zero effort to flip past a page with a tw list if that isn't something you care about. if you're vehemently opposed to the use of a tw list in a book, you're lacking in empathy
