This worked against Corbyn because everyone on the left in politics was horrified at the idea of being told that because they loathed Netanyahu and his racist far-right government they were "antisemitic". It was a very sophisticated operation, requiring cross-party co-operation; a deliberate and now very well-documented manipulation of people's deepest anti-racist beliefs in order to protect Israel. It caused deep hurt and, in some cases, psychological damage to hundreds of thousands of decent people. It won't work this time because the entire world has seen with our own eyes what "Jewish Supremacism" means. The Telegraph is an establishment-supporting news outlet, and doesn't actually give a hoot about Jews or antisemitism except as a baton with which to beat political enemies. Serge Halimi of Le Monde Diplomatique called this out almost 7 years ago, as he saw the parallels of the antisemitism "plots" happening simultaneously in the UK, France and the US, all using the same playbook. @Telegraph If that's true why are the quotation marks where they are in the headline? If that is *exactly* what was said the quotation marks would be in a very different place. The fact that the quotation marks start where they do is very deliberate, and clumsy, slight of hand.

@MaggieMaeFish Should say both of these are "arguably" cases, you could make a good case either way. The horror for both, imo, is a lot of people would make similar choices even if we know they're not wise and / or ethical. It directly links us with both protagonists and we share their fate.

Today, we announced that we will commission a statue of Charlie Kirk to honor his legacy and incredible work after his tragic assassination last week.
