@RangersFC Rohl as poor a game state manager as there has been at Rangers. Baffling changes and timing yet again. Winning leagues is about taking risks and finding a way to win. The state of these changes, the majority only coming after conceding 2. Really tragic stuff!

@KaiGWatson Feels similar in nature to Callum Paterson. If memory serves was played as a fullback at Hearts. Moved down south and was instantly recognised as a forward. Not saying he was as good or as effective as Zukowski, but very much a good/bold coaching decision to recognise it

This honestly is an unbelievable story given he couldn’t get minutes as a back up right back at Rangers. Turned up one pre-season having put a lot of muscle on then left. You look at his goals and there must have been signs he’s had that in him the whole time!

In football, rare things happen sometimes. Those rare things can completely change the fate of the person involved. Imagine when Gareth Bale became one of the best attackers in the world from his previous left-back position. See how Javier Mascherano became a major part of that successful Barcelona team under Pep Guardiola after he changed from DM to centre back. The story of Mateusz Zukowski is similar in a more pleasant way. Zukowski is 24 and Polish. His career began at Lechia Gdansk in his home country. He joined Rangers from the club in 2022 and was played as a full-back. He had only one appearance during his time in Scotland and returned to Poland. When he returned to his home country, he was played as a winger. His performances were barely decent, only scoring three times in sixty-six games. Last season, he suffered a bad injury that kept him out for long spells. Fate travels with Zukowski and he enjoyed a beautiful stroke of fortune when 2. Bundesliga side Magdeburg signed him for €250k during the summer transfer window. He didn’t play in the first 8 games of the season. Remember, he’s a full-back. The story soon took an interesting turn. When he returned from injury, in what felt like an epiphany, Magdeburg converted him to a #9. The result? Extraordinary. He’s scored 17 goals in his last 18 games, and he’s the top scorer of the league despite his team’s overall struggles. Everything has happened in less than a year. This game will never cease to amaze me.

Why does Nico Raskin often drop between #Rangers' CBs at the moment - interesting to hear him explain Rohl's tactical blueprint in more detail. “For now, I'm dropping deep quite often because we play a lot of teams with two strikers up front and to break the first pressing line, maybe you need someone to drop to get plus one and have an extra man. “Then the extra man can drive a bit with the ball, force someone else to step out, then you can find a good angle. That's how you progress during the game against a block that is really well organised." @4ladshadadream Don’t think it’s controversial at all. Was barely on the park vs Falkirk, full of running, capable of playing very wide (which Rangers will need) and clearly as plenty of assists in the locker. Heatmap gives a good indication of where he will effect games imo

Seeing #Rangers creating better chances is no real shock considering their form. But the manner of the performance overall is brutal and Rohl has a huge HT team talk after that lifeline goal. He has to change it tactically and push some urgency into the team
