It’s no coincidence that people see echoes of Barber’s Tales in Sisa. Both films look at the cost of silence and the power of finding a voice.
The real difference is the audience. In 2013, Barber’s Tales was down to only 3 cinemas by the third day. Most people only caught up with it years later through streaming or other means. The fact that Sisa is still solidly screening on its second week is nothing short of a gift from everyone who showed up.
