@narj_15 We had to pre water to strip till and then pre water to settle strips, and I’m going start wells tomorrow on the first planted from a couple days ago, to water it up… Keep telling ourselves there’s light at the end of the tunnel, hoping it isn’t too big of a train. 😂

@JerodMcDaniel Tried planting corn today too, 10 days past normal. Conditions so bad its not worth doing so its parked for another week and hope for change. Feed scarcity is a huge challenge. There is none left in the area.

Drought plans go into full effect tomorrow 😞 dry lotting everything for the foreseeable future is the only option for now. Maybe grass in 30 days for some. New owners for others. All the fun stuff....

@narj_15 Hang in there! Similar situation here, had a great stand of dryland and irrigated wheat, dryland died and irrigated got disease and didn’t grow enough to make much more than a months worth of feed. We’ve been feeding up all our old hay (thankful we had it) but old bales suck.

@JerodMcDaniel Trit drilled last fall died on us this spring. Hosed out of a month of feed there. Then we drilled a few dryland fields a month ago to forage mixes.... 1/2" rain got it up earlier this week but 90s and wind may kill it off. No green to anything. Rough times.

Trying to export American beef to China while simultaneously trying to increase beef imports because domestic supply cannot meet demand is an impressive effort to achieve the most inexplicable policy decision imaginable. Either we have enough beef to feed our people or we don’t.
