every other AI video editor attempts to retrofit the traditional non-linear editor with a chat copilot.
the @mosaic_so canvas is the result of talking to users, better understanding their workflows, and redesigning the most effective UX to accelerate their video editing use cases.
from first principles, we’ve rethought the traditional non-linear video editor and chat-based AI interaction.
today, we share that with you.

IAC just sold 17 apps to Bending Spoons.
- $100M deal
- All 330 employees fired
- Robokiller and PDF Hero appear to be the biggest
Sneak peak at the playbook: ultra scammy tactics, no new features, sell user data, more ads, and other lovely things.
Our new machine shop is up and running. We continue to add to and improve our machining capabilities so we can get electricity from fusion as soon as possible. Three more machines on their way!
@joegarofoli Is there any information about what audience this survey was given to? It seem like they were likely targeting a specific type of person, but don’t see that discussed. The type of sample should at least be mentioned, cause is relevant to understanding
@ramsez_codes@ShakedLokits@WorkFlowy@NotionHQ Yeah, understood. Unfortunately, we've done infinite experiments (a/b tests) with the home page, and the terrible current home page is sadly the winner in terms of conversion and ongoing engagement of users. Perhaps the virality shareability factor should be weighted more
I wish @WorkFlowy would develop the features that users are requesting instead of trying to compete with @NotionHQ on the collaboration market. It’s such a great outlining tool all on its own.
#workflowy#notes#notion#wishfulthinking
@ramsez_codes@ShakedLokits@WorkFlowy@NotionHQ capturing ideas and doing their actual thinking, because it is so fluid for that. while they use notion for creating a charming looking place to present those ideas to others. they literally do the work in WF and then export it to notion.
@ramsez_codes@ShakedLokits@WorkFlowy@NotionHQ It's primarily a single user tool, but a lot of teams use it too. We're making it better for communication, but it would be more a competitor to email, for deep, ongoing communications.
Lots of people use both notion and workflowy. They typically use WF for ... continued
@ramsez_codes@ShakedLokits@WorkFlowy@NotionHQ is for crafting more rigid structures, but also of infinite depth. it's one of the few productivity tools that launched after us that i really found innovative. and they've done really well, as have many of their clones
@ramsez_codes@ShakedLokits@WorkFlowy@NotionHQ Hi!
We actually launched before Notion (we're even in their import options) :)
It's sorta similar, except if you start using them. Workflowy is a very fluid experience, made for quickly and easily moving in and out from different vantage points. Notion ... continued
@ShakedLokits@WorkFlowy@NotionHQ 5/ And I totally understand if you don't believe me that this is actually in the service of users like you. Which is why i'm curious what features you in particularly want, so I can see if it applies, and so you can hold me accountable in the future
@ShakedLokits@WorkFlowy@NotionHQ 4/ the features people using wf on teams want, after the basic ability to see what's going on and communicate are **those very features you're talking about, that everyone wants**
@jessep I honestly don't notice it once the app is open, but "jot something down quickly before it leaves my brain" is a really important use case for me.
I loved Workflowy's design but gave it up because I couldn't stand the unbearably long sync times anymore.
I've been using Obsidian and just had it randomly unrecoverably delete a bunch of text I'd just typed - for the Nth time, where N is too high.
Any other recommendations?
