This news cutting from the Hackney Gazette (4 December 1981) reports on the filming of The Wall, Alan Parker’s cinematic adaptation of Pink Floyd’s album. Scenes depicting riots were shot on Nevill Road, Stoke Newington, with actors and extras smashing and looting shop windows to recreate moments of urban unrest.
