@babybeginner Definition of *actual* Feminism: “A political movement, the goal of which is the liberation of the female sex class from the oppression of the male sex class.” The entire “trans” proposition ensures that there’s nowhere we can run from or be free of them ever again.

The female sex class has specific needs and issues, and the job of addressing these needs and issues at a political level is almost always given to a female. When such a female chooses not to defend women’s rights, because it would endanger their own personal status, that is worthy of comment. Of course it’s true that many men are in thrall to gender ideology too, but by definition, being men, they’ve never needed the rights they now seek to dismantle. A woman, though - unless she’s been unusually sheltered from birth - knows from her own life experience how important those hard won rights are, because she’ll have benefited from them. If she then achieves the kind of power and/or economic security that mean she has no personal need for state-run single-sex spaces and services, but uses her platform to decree that women without her protections no longer need what she herself used and took for granted, she is guilty of a particularly egregious hypocrisy.

@inderXplorer @jk_rowling Males are not a tiny minority. People born with penises are the reason women need rights. There are no special penis-born people who are different from all the others in their sex class simply b/c they say so. 🙄

@jk_rowling It’s interesting how “protecting women” online almost always turns into endless outrage about a tiny minority instead of childcare, domestic violence funding, healthcare access, pay gaps, or housing insecurity.

@salltweets @piersmorgan What is really hard to understand is the fixation with the subject. Really. We are speaking of a minuscule minority, almost irrelevant in societies development. Trauma is the only explanation. If not, plane bigotry 🤷🏻‍♀️

@free_equal “Gender” = “femininity”/“masculinity” and clothes DO have a gender. Clothes ARE gender. Clothes, however do NOT have a *sex*. Persons of either SEX (female/male) should be able to wear what like they like. This is *actual* feminism 101.

What is up lately with older men thinking that it’s okay for them to come up and try to hit on girls that are at least half or three times their age. They were telling him they didn’t want to talk to him,but he just wouldn’t take no for an answer and that’s a huge problem!

The requirement that women– not men–have their sex monitored, tested & proven legitimizes the distorted fantasy that men are trying to pass as women to win women’s sports competitions(why would they when female athletes are paid so much less?)@MoiraDonegan theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

@DreyfusJames Well, when you redefine “woman” and “lesbian” to mean “anyone who “identifies” as one” (ergo the terms mean nothing), then “trans” “women” aren’t men, and having any one-sex only sexual orientation is bigotry.

What does a man's internal sense of himself in relation to gendered social constructs have to do with my innate, immutable sex? Why would anyone think my sex and his feelings about my sex are in the same category? Why would his feelings about the female sex that can only be derived from sexist social constructions, entitle him to associate himself with female citizens and enprivilege himself with access to female-only spaces and services? Why can none of the institutions professing a policy or law that deems some men to be women for 'reasons' capable of answering these questions or providing coherent reasons to actual women?

In the EU, we hardly ever speak of women anymore. Political parties—left, center, and also conservatives—have embraced gender self-ID without scrutiny or debate. Does this threaten women’s rights? Yes. And here I explain why.

If you tell women to change their behaviour to avoid being raped, what you’re really saying is, “make sure he rapes the other girl instead.” There will always be a woman who is more vulnerable less sober, less confident, with fewer friends around her, or walking alone in a darker part of town. She deserves to be safe just as much as I do. Safety shouldn’t depend on which woman was easier to target that night. The problem isn’t women’s behaviour. The problem is men who choose to commit rape as an act of violence.

Men often show profound cognitive dissonance when it comes to rape. Fathers will say they don’t want their daughters around boys because they “know what teenage boys are like,” yet many of those same men dismiss feminists and insist “not all men” are dangerous. Women are called paranoid for being cautious around men, but if something happens, we’re blamed for being naive or putting ourselves in a risky situation. If we refuse to go somewhere with a man because he might be dangerous, we’re accused of unfairly generalizing. If we do go and something happens, then it’s also our fault. Many men recognize the risk men pose to women but they only fully acknowledge it when it comes to their own daughters.

@alfkkifine Yes, "know what teenage boys are like" means they're trying to bed every girl they meet. It has nothing to do with rape or any crime. It's about fathers who want their daughters to be good women and not the village bike. Try not being so poisonous.

@MichaelGLFlood Nobody’s saying otherwise. Oh, wait — you’re attempting MAGIC! In your world, males/men (ALL pen*s-born ppl) who “identify” as “trans women” are somehow not male/boys/men when any and all pen*s-born people say so (and their word is final). That’s just patriarchy, dude. Same old.

@Marzipan1356921 @Belle_Jam_Jarr @nyaraV2 “Male-coded?” We’re saying they look male b/c they’re male. Saying that someone looks male is not the same thing as saying they look “masculine.” And there’s no such thing as a “transexual female” unless you’re referring to a female who’s trying to pass as male.

@Marzipan1356921 @Belle_Jam_Jarr @nyaraV2 We TERFs aren’t saying that males who “identify” as women are “masculine”; we’re saying that they’re MALE. “Femininity”/“Masculinity” (“gender”) are sexist patriarchal social constructs and have f*ck all to do with what we’re saying.

You're really not getting it. Not even close! A feminist, or any woman with half a brain, doesn't give a flying fart about femininity. Femininity and masculinity are artifices that belong to the frameworks of sexism. The objection to trans women is that they're men trying to mask the fact that they're men with stuff they think flags 'femininity' - the colour pink, high heels, long hair, boobs or the semblance of boobs.
