You guys need to read today's Standard pg2 on what the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) will cover going forward. 1. Maternity - For deliveries, SHIF will only remit Sh11,200 for normal deliveries and Sh32,600 for Caesarian section. 2. Hospital stay - Hospital stay is restricted to only 48hrs for normal delivery and 72hrs for C-Section. 3. Mothers with complications beyond 48hrs for normal delivery and 72hrs for C-Section, will have to undergo fresh vetting before accessing services under SHIF. Call your Woman Rep and ask them to come outside, you just want to talk.
