Sen. Ping Lacson said he and his staff have turned over to the Office of the Ombudsman documentary and testimonial evidence they gathered on alleged anomalies in flood control for further evaluation and a motu proprio investigation. Lacson said they are looking at cases of plunder, malversation, violations of the Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (RA 3019), among others. In a post on X, the senator also flagged alleged irregularities in infrastructure projects in Taguig, including supposed illegal reclamation presented as slope protection structures, ghost projects, double appropriations, and the use of recycled photos from completed projects to bill for new contracts. Lacson further alleged that all these are being controlled by one person. “We hope the excellent research and investigative work that my staff did in this regard won’t be wasted and will contribute to the Ombudsman’s efforts to expedite their investigation,” he said.
