@McDonalds we received a burger with a bite out of it with our order on Tuesday at 260 FRONTAGE RD GA GLYNN BRUNSWICK, GA driving back from the beach! Threw away the entire order and contacted customer service with no response yet. This is so disgusting. Please help.

As a 3rd yr med student, I got the unsolicited (enraging, gendered) advice that going into surgery would make me a "bad wife & bad mom." 60% of participants delayed childbearing due to demands of medical training; >75% regretted this decision at least 'a little bit'.

Hot tip: Turns out it is hard to sleep at night when you are afraid there are bats even if you aren’t in the same room you were in, and no one could find said bat, evidence of a bat home (💩), or where the bat got in.

@arghavan_salles Yes. Or depression/burnout in the middle of COVID when some programs made the exam optional or literally anything that makes a 4+ hour exam on one of a few days off, postcall, or w someone temporarily covering their services longer. 100% wrong timing. I was a nonresponder.

@michael22joseph @motazqadan 100%…we both had to moonlight every free second to afford childcare+rent. Could reserve spots at hospital daycare w long hours, subsidize, and include the residents in the backup care benefit. It would be relatively easy to improve the training with children life exponentially.

@jfeebs14 @motazqadan Literally my entire paycheck goes to childcare. Thank god my wife works and makes enough for the remainder of our expenses, cause it is absurdly expensive to have kids in training

I wonder what would happen if we shifted our work day to start just one hour later to make everything just slightly more compatible with regular society 🤔 (Context: Brainstorming childcare coverage for trainees)

I’ve rarely heard a crowd gasp in amazement at a medical conference Dr. Karin Fox helped pioneer a surgical technique to minimize bleeding for high risk c-sections Using a GI stapler to open the uterus! Blood loss for an average c-section: up to 800 ml Blood loss 20 ml!

It's kinda funny watching the residents and med students do their afternoon rounds. Feel like I've been doing a good job about not being that one family medical member who second guesses everything and had to know all the JO outputs etc. #surgicalwisdomisknowingwhentoholdback
