@kaps2000_e@Chandler_Rome And why does Wade and trammel deserve to be yo here! These are olde players that have no future here. At least some of the young guys should get consistent playing time before pulling the plug
Another shakeup for the Astros outfield, which has the lowest on-base percentage in baseball and saw its Opening Day center fielder and left fielder demoted on Saturday - nytimes.com/athletic/74218…
@Rockets26Disapt@Chandler_Rome Agreed. I could be wrong, but I just don’t see it with Allen Wade and trammel. I’ll be happy if they are just holdovers for a trade or two for starters
@kaps2000_e@michaelschwab13 Three of those deserve consistent playing time over has beens trammel and Wade. Trammel and Wade provide nothing for the present or future
Jake Meyers and Joey Loperfido have been optioned to AAA.
Meyers is batting .206 with a .580 OPS
Zach Dezenzo and LaMonte Wade Jr are being reinstated.
@jfos1222@Chandler_Rome First three I get, but Cole has been horrible at AAA. Spence isn’t on the 40 man roster and with all the 60 day IL reactivations coming soon it’s already going to be enough of a roster crunch.
@DDelgattoNFL@shaeferrr Trammel is is about to be below .250 average. No power, can’t field, injury prone.
Wade should retire, no power, can’t field, injury prone.
@strohsguy@brianmctaggart I hope they will. But Espada loves his vets (Allen, trammel, and Wade) and will put them as starters over the young guys getting to play five/six games in a row.
The Astros have reinstated OF LaMonte Wade Jr. (right hamstring strain) from the 10-day IL and recalled OF Zach Dezenzo from Triple-A Sugar Land. OF Jake Meyers and OF Joey Loperfido have been optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land.
@TopherT613@DDelgattoNFL Wade and trammel both are horrible. The fact they are giving starting playing time shows how bad Dana and Joe are. Joe hates playing young guys consistently
@brianmctaggart Actually better to send Meyers down than Delgado. Trammell/ Matthews platoon in CF and Wade/Dezenzo platoon in LF. Not great but not much they can do with the talent on the roster.
Some injury updates:
OF LaMonte Wade Jr. (right hamstring strain) will begin a rehab assignment tonight for Sugar Land in its series opener at OKC.
RHP Hayden Wesneski (Tommy John surgery) threw three scoreless innings today for the FCL Astros.
@Houston1875@brianmctaggart Agreed. Thwy seem not to want to give the young guys ample opportunity. Espada and brown know their jobs on the line, they are choosing to trust older players for some reason
@brianmctaggart Guy still sucks. We have seen this scripted situation with nearly every single stiff Astros sign. This is not a guy who can sustain excellence. Needs to have pitches thrown right over middle of plate for him to succeed. We need to develop our young outfielders in MLB, not AAA
