I have actually hired two people to assist me. I will be making introductory announcements in the next few days. We have a lot of challenges and important work ahead. I look forward to giving this term everything I have. To doing municipal politics differently. Stay tuned.

I want to thank everyone that expressed interest in the political assistant position to assist me in my duties as Regional Councilor. The response was overwhelming. There are a lot of people with a passion for municipal politics and a desire to serve the community.

All should get a 2nd chance. I have always advocated a week interval for a Comm vote & a Coun Ratification. This allows time to fully consider an issue. Sorry but it was a STEAMROLL. It only became a mistake when the Public were given a bit of info. Shame on all 9 of you!

@robdeutschmann Surely no action has been taken at this time. The Region needs a good lawyer to stop this ridiculous action. Do you know any lawyers? I appreciate it will be hard to find a “ good” one.

FYI from the Region's Policy and Procedures: A resolution that was decided by Council cannot be reconsidered if action has been taken in implementing the resolution resulting in legally binding commitments that are in place on the date the motion to reconsider is considered

@robdeutschmann You can’t re- view something that the Public wasn’t given a chance to view. The rationalization given is pathetic. This isn’t Guelph or for MP’s /MPP’s. List a past Regional Councillor who was destitute. You need to overturn not just review

@fitsumareguy I've committed to bringing a motion seeking that the Region of Waterloo would not move forward with any eviction in the event that the court approves the ROW request. In the alternative, I will be asking that no action be taken without council approval. I have heard enough.

There is a very good chance the courts will give the Region the go-ahead to clear out the encampment. Hoping there are councillors who will prevent the Region from going this route. Looking to @_colleenjames and @robdeutschmann for leadership here.

@m2bowman Yes you missed it . I referred to it in the August 11 edition of Kitchener Citizen. On the morning of August 28th I posted a lengthy announcement on Face Book. I then sent an E Mail to everyone at Kitchener city Hall.
