Very rare to hear a manager talk in such tactical detail than Rohl here (3m-4m). Need some perspective on the last two tough games & count ourselves lucky we’ve got him, whilst we still have. Destined for the top, he’ll go on to bigger things than we can currently offer. #swfc

My post-match thoughts are: Our approach to the game was good. The system worked well. We looked better from Set plays - both creating chances and defending them. There didn't, between the boxes, look a huge amount of difference between the teams. At the time of the first goal, it was 0.75 vs 0.1 xG. The game ended up 1.7 xG vs 1.1. That doesn't account for the opportunities we created and didn't get a shot off. The Gassama run in the first half sticks in the mind. I don't think it is a case of, Burnley took their chances - as if they were created well. Yes they finished them well, but it wasn't like Burnley worked hard for an opening and took it. They were gifts. On the other hand, we have to be scoring from 1.7xG. And we have to be shooting more from the good chances we get in. I think the hybrid system Rohl plays is good for holding defensive shape, whilst allowing us to play the expansive in possession style Rohl wants. We just don't have enough depth in quality to be a top side at the moment. Not enough quality in both boxes. We're a CB short. We're a 9 short. If we want to attack the top half this season, we need to pluck away, picking up points here and there, going on mini runs, and then adding that extra quality in January - if we can. We will, however, be fine and safe regardless. We have more than enough to stay up
