@demorizi_eudy Rightfully so, he’s the worst defensive catcher in baseball AND is not a heart of the lineup bat

@MarlinsHistory I’ll still be a fan if they move but I don’t think Florida at least not Tampa and Miami can support baseball. We have enough sample size to make an assessment. Move it to Jacksonville or Orlando see if they can support it. I’m tired of this argument with Marlins fans.

The fact the Marlins fanbase even exists after everything every owner has taken from us is a miracle. Teal, players, broadcasters. I will never blame this region for not coming out until we get 1 owner that actually gives us what we want & puts their money where their mouth is.
DeeHicks@Swiftsdatdude

@MarlinsHistory No it isn’t see the Rockies. Why can’t we be objective with ourselves as Marlins fans? We fucking suck. We’ve never really supported this team. Bottom 5 attendance pretty much all 33 years of existence. But blame the owners or the ballpark location everything but us.

@cecilbsawgrass @kkiriinn @AlexKrutchik1 mmmm, I see now — be that as it may, it’s a case for a stadium east of i95 once the lease is up, not closer to the county line

@BostonArman @ShoutoutKG I think that’s reductive, though based on truth. A large portion of the population here operates that way yes, but the Heat have shown you can build a loyal high-attendance fanbase in the heart of Dade if you treat fans with respect and commit to building a competitive team.

@jholgado7 @ShoutoutKG They’ll come when it’s playoffs. Miami loves events not sports. They aren’t going to mid seasons unless it becomes a reggaeton concert featuring marlins or an event of some sort

@AlexKrutchik1 Sorry but as someone from Palm Beach getting to heat games is much easier than Marlins games. I’d probably go to every home game on my day offs if it were easier but the drive deters me so I just settle for the trip 4-5 times a year.

@obliviousdewd @ShoutoutKG Yeah, for the people in Broward. Plenty of people in Dade, ownership just needs to commit to the team.

@jisaacraymond Agree with everything except the “too many games” part. NBA has had an 82 game season for 60 years, nearly the leagues entire relevant history. Modern players should do more to prioritize durability in their training.

It’s very notable that baseball has surged out of a cultural lull by just addressing things that annoyed people. And then you contrast that with basketball - paralyzed by tanking, free throw hunting, having too many games, etc.
Conor Sen@conorsen

This might be the first time in the history of pro sports that players have the opportunity to humiliate the umpires/referees with home fans getting to cheer it on — baseball’s doing everything right these days.

@jholgado7 @Cangelosifan @MarlinsHistory League trend yes, but not league wide decision. Jeter made the call. Still a handful of teams with first pitch after 7pm local time. Getting a home in dade won’t solve it. We’ll all still be employed. Little Havana is an awful stadium not designed for weeknight games. Full stop

@BenG726 @Cangelosifan @MarlinsHistory That was league wide, not a Jeter decision. The point is Miami teams weaken their product when they try to cater to the north counties. It’s a large enough city that it’s a myth that Miami teams need fans + money from up north. You want to make first pitch, get a home in Dade.

@Cangelosifan @jholgado7 @MarlinsHistory 7:10pm start times would be doable for those of us with normal jobs in broward. Dumb jeter decision to make first pitch 6:40. Even more useless with pitch clock now.

That doesn’t mean walling yourself off from legitimate criticism; only to learn to distinguish that from the tidal wave of shit that comes your way from the worst people alive whenever you step out of line according to their standards. Don’t let it rob your peace, your life.

Bam Adebayo is the only person on the planet who knows how much pressure one would feel while needing to make four straight free throws to pass Kobe Bryant's 81 points in a single game.

Nah this was a very Heat Culture moment (compliment). I never viewed Heat Culture as being about “professionalism”. Yeah Heat Culture is about dedication and consistency etc but it has never been about coddling the feelings of outsiders. In fact a very fundamental tenet of Heat Culture is “fuck everybody but us”. Heat Culture isn’t protecting the ego of opposing coaches. It’s telling Danny Ainge to shut the fuck up. And letting your guy chase history no matter who it pisses off.

Tim MacMahon GOES OFF on Bam 83 point game 😳 “He’s jacking up 3s triple teamed! It was honestly just awful, hideous, disgusting basketball down the stretch… I never ever (x6) want to hear about Heat culture & professionalism and all that crap again because that was the most blatant stat chasing I’ve ever seen! It was embarrassing for the wizards and egregious for the Heat. I enjoyed the ethical 39 by Wemby more than I did the egregious 83.” (Via @BannedMacMahon)

@GurleysHome @hyphhytv @ohhhthatsMari @smiley_moth @ClarKent_210 gonna have to agree to disagree, man. He loses receivers too much in coverage for my liking and any turnovers he’s created have been in recovery after getting burned (from what I’ve seen). Too weak to play the type of press man we’re going to play w the KC guys coming over, too.
