White HOUSE sources, you pillock. Now a blocked pillock.
John Kelly@JohnKel54735865
@afneil So good that you have White Sources , makes it look like that you are important and that people in the White House would actually think of leaking information to you , and old failed hack
English

@afneil True…..it’s a pity there’s no mechanism for demanding a General Election on the basis of misrepresentation. If we’d wanted someone like Mr Lammy, Ms Rayner et al, we could have vote for the Monster Raving Loony Party

There'll be a collective sigh of relief when Starmer goes. But brace yourself. What comes next could be much worse ANDREW NEIL mol.im/a/15536251

This isn’t Andrew Neil it’s an AI….perhaps Mr Neil knows about it. If I was him I’d be darn annoyed

@DanielJHannan Meanwhile out in the real UK world I’m about to go on my food bank collection which provides hundreds of thousands of meals to people who can’t afford to eat. It’s worth repeating that whilst it’s ok to give billions of pounds to a foreign power our own citizens go hungry

CHAGOS SURRENDER UPDATE
Ministers are now in the extraordinary position of arguing that a non-binding opinion by a court whose jurisdiction is expressly excluded from intra-Commonwealth disputes should be treated as non-negotiable, but that an actual international treaty, the 1966 accord between the UK and the US, which specifies in its first clause that ‘the territory shall remain under United Kingdom sovereignty’, can be ignored.
This was never really about international law. It was about Starmer’s callow anti-colonialism, his dislike of flags with Union Jacks in the corner, his desire to virtue-signal on the world stage.
It is striking that the only Labour MP who spoke yesterday, the decent and likeable @DanCardenMP, was against the handover.
Is Labour really going to wreck itself on the rocks because Starmer is doing a favour for one of his human rights lawyer friends?

@GBNEWS That’s Tess Daly MBE for services to broadcasting 😂 shows how shallow our society is.

@afneil My memoir is brilliant, he said modestly, but as I’m not a failed politician or facing potential charges I can’t get breakfast TV et al to promote it

Brilliant review of N Sturgeon’s turgid memoirs by JK Rowling. Absolutely brilliant.

@LizKershawDJ Tweeting xing or whatever it’s called is a poisonous biz. They’re all out there, sitting in their vest and pants in attic rooms, or in worse places.
Imo it’s a waste of everyone’s time….why am I here then…. and only subjects you to nasty, ageist etc. Go for a walk instead
English

Your post is nasty, ageist and patronising. Rather than making any contribution to the debate. Actually I'm very lucky in life. I am nearly 67 but not at all "bitter and twisted". Just wise, informed and engaged about what's really going on and using this platform (with more than the 73 followers you can muster) to exchange views. As a retired "TV and radio" person I feel sorry for you and your sad little life.

@Iromg Where to start on this stupidity, the possibilities are endless. I hope that cabling doesn’t have any copper or other resealable material in it. It’ll disappear overnight probably along with the car attached to it
English

This is his most stupid idea yet…
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer
You shouldn’t need a driveway to own an electric car. My Plan for Change is boosting funding for infrastructure to allow cables to run safely beneath pavements. That’s cheaper, at home charging – putting money back in the pockets of working people.

@JuliaHB1 The “band” I use the term lightly, will love the publicity this is giving them. In a world where profile is everything and talent an also ran people including us here now talking about them is invaluable
English

If you're at #Glastonbury and you go to the Kneecap gig, when one of the band members is charged under the Terrorism Act, you don't just need to examine your conscience, you need your head examined.
Did you forget that on 7 October 2023, hundreds of Nova music festival goers were murdered, raped or taken hostage by Hamas and cheered on by Hezbollah?
Don't you understand that those terrorists would happily do exactly the same to YOU if they got the chance?
Shame on anyone who watches Kneecap. Shame on you all.

@jk_rowling Why does anyone bother with tweeting/xing whatever it’s called ? It’s poisonous, pointless, a waste of time and emotional energy. Go for a walk with your dog instead. You’ll get more satisfaction and pleasure. If you don’t have a dog then just walk

@afneil I wonder if those high end manufacturers buy British Steel for their cars. This morning the plant in Scunthorpe is under threat.
Of course it’s owned by the Chinese. Another example of the disastrous global economy coming back to bite us.
English

America is the second biggest export market for cars produced in the UK, accounting for 16.9 per cent of UK car exports in 2024 — about 100,000 vehicles worth £7.6 billion in sales revenues.
Trump has levied a 25% tariff on all cars (and car parts) exported to the US. No carve outs for Britain.
US International Trade Commission thinks a 25 per cent tariff on imports will reduce imports by almost 75 per cent — a body blow for the British car industry, which was hardly in the best shape anyway.
The Labour government has said nothing even as its efforts to cosy up to the Trump administration come to naught.
