August 17, 1909: Veer Savarkar waited outside Pentonville Prison in England to collect the body of a 25-year-old man, who had not been handed over by the British government after his hanging. This body belonged to the great revolutionary, Madan Lal Dhingra, the son of a wealthy and prosperous family, sent to England to study by his father, a civil surgeon employed by the British government. But the flame of revolution was such that Madan Lal, along with Veer Savarkar, decided to teach a lesson to Curzon Wyllie, a British army officer who had returned to England in 1901 after committing atrocities in India. On July 1, 1909, Madan Lal Dhingra shot Curzon Wyllie at a meeting held at the Imperial Institute in England. The British government arrested him and hanged him on August 17, 1909. Madan Lal was so courageous and fearless that when he was tried in court, he clearly stated, "The British government has no right to prosecute me... I don't respect the laws of the British government that is killing millions of innocent patriots in India and bringing 100 million pounds from India to England every year. Therefore, I will not even give my explanation in this court. Do whatever you want..." And when he was being taken away after being sentenced to death, he thanked the judge and said, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to sacrifice my life for my motherland." S-400 operational covering every critical approach axis. BrahMos and Akash batteries in place. Three new forward garrisons stood up in 2025. That is the kinetic layer alone. Then comes the infrastructure layer which is what makes this permanent. Seven strategic highways built and hardened around the Corridor creating redundancy that eliminates single point failure. If one route gets hit six others keep moving troops and supplies. 600 acres transferred to BSF. 110 kilometres of border fencing accelerating on a boundary that leaked for decades. Then there is the detail almost nobody is reporting. Roughly 35 to 40 kilometres of underground rail being built connecting through to Bagdogra Air Force Station. Surface routes can be struck. Underground logistics cannot. India is constructing a strike resilient spine beneath its most vulnerable corridor. And this is not sitting in a planning document. Exercise Teesta Prahar in May 2025 war-gamed actual dual front scenarios covering the Chumbi Valley and Bangladesh approaches simultaneously. On the ground. With real assets. Four integrated layers now exist around a corridor that once had none. Rafales and S-400 and BrahMos making the approach unthinkable. Seven highways eliminating single point failure. Border sealing ending decades of porosity. Underground rail ensuring logistics survive a strike. Chicken's Neck was a vulnerability that kept Indian strategists awake for a generation. What PM Modi has built in its place has a different name. Iron Neck. And it is ready.
