@paulg The funniest part is that if they have their name trademarked, and the competitor who bought it points it at their domain, there’s a good chance that they’ll lose it for TM infringement and possibly damages as well. Dumb move on their part, reinforces point (a), they’re amateurs!

A startup told me a highly-funded competitor bought the .com of their name. I told them this is good news in a way. It means the competitor is (a) amateurish and (b) afraid of them, both of which suggest the competitor will lose in the long term.

This is so fucking embarrassing.
