Have had wine. Starting to think about how I could make a living as an “influencer” and realizing my GenX overdeveloped sense of responsibility wouldn’t let me… Fuck.

@DebFoxFinancial I lived there until age 19. Church is on one side of the city and the cemetery is on the other side. It's a large plot of land with multiple entrances and tiny roads to move through it. I guess technically the A/C and heat are on the aisles but it probably seeps in to the crypt.

@jimgunnyea Thanks-fun to know you were baptized where the plots are. Does that mean you were born/raised/live in the same area all your life? The accountant in me asked about A/C because I pay temp controlled storage in TX; costs more than w/o and also protects what is inside.

My cousin visited 4 MI cemetery's today, 2026 Memorial Day remembering our vets and our family. She/they cleaned headstones and took floral crosses to family and 250 flags to vets. This is my mom. Her baby sister will join her 6/5/26.

@DebFoxFinancial I have no idea about the maintenance. I'm sure that's something else to find out. I was baptized at this Church too. I think they also have an agreement with nearby churches to take their parishioners. It's a huge cemetery.

@jimgunnyea Wow- thx for sharing. I am glad your mom is comfortable and has what she wanted. I never thought about a view or A/C heat. Do you pay an annual maintenance fee for that? I have heard people not wanting to be by bugs.

@DebFoxFinancial It's tied to a Catholic Church in Hackensack/Teaneck NJ. My Mom is down the road from where she lived on the 2nd story of a Mausoleum since she wanted a view, no bugs, and AC/Heat. No kidding, she was worried about these things.

@jimgunnyea It's nice to have so many in one place. Is it tied to a church or private/family cemetery because you are a "land baron"? Ending on a playful note to add some improvement to the day.

@CPATaxTeam @bsuecannon Did you already obtain a valuation, and work through potential discounts so that you know the % of value that is covered and what may be exposed and worked through solutions for that?

I just saw an illustration for an IUL policy for a client who is looking at a buy-sell keyman policy. Premiums financed with collateral investments. Cash value grows inside policy and covers the interest on the financing. Why are these bad policies? paging @bsuecannon and @CrownCPA

@MikeKuczborski @CrownCPA I work with several and I get included on these sorts of discussions. Which is excellent for the client. Many times, the questions lead to a better construction and solution.

I want to go to a tax and accounting conference where we can try this. Early AM or after cocktail hour, either works. One may be way more interesting than the other; but either is fine.

@CrownCPA FA's can be dangerous by themselves with a client. Your people need you! Our clients need us to be the sounding board, do the research, and make the recommendations for next steps/plans.

@jimgunnyea It can be complicated and I agree with an advisor. I had posted this right after being at a conference with clients of mine where a FA was telling them that’s how to build wealth in the middle part of their careers.

@CrownCPA I saw that! LI and it's construction w/riders and such are unique to the situation, circumstances, individual, and time of life. It's complicated stuff and you need an advisor such as yourself to navigate to the proper solution.

@jimgunnyea My point about not needing the WL or UL was for wealth building. They can come in handy for other reasons. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Having been licensed to sell all types of insurance probably gives me a unique perspective on all of the rider options and other options.

@adammarkowitzEA Music will definitely transport you to different times and how you felt. It's okay to feel what you feel. It's hard sometimes to ride the "wave" of emotions but you master it over time. Hang in there!

I've had a good morning & decided to respond to some of these old emails today. I turned on Pandora for the first time in eons. The music is proving to be super emotional to me. I've always loved & appreciated music. Music just has a way of hitting the feels that need to be felt

@CrownCPA Insurance can do a variety of things but it has to fit the situation and/or be something that can evolve over time.

@CrownCPA Done both (term/WL). Did come in handy along the way. Yes, there are large commissions. Borrowed against it when I could not get loans elsewhere. At my current age, with riders you can use the benefit amounts for LTC. LTC policy is paid up (was a 10 pay) at age 41. VALS/VULS.

@LizMpersonal We used to hang out there in my teens. That and the beach across from Tom's River with the boardwalk (Seaside - I think). Same stuff different days.

@jimgunnyea They think this will curb underaged drinking, drugs, carrying weapons 🙄 This is Wildwood in case you were curious.

So, locally, one of our shore towns have placed a ban on backpacks on the boardwalk starting at 8pm (some exclusions like a diaper bag). My question is: do we toss the backpack in the ocean at 7:59?
