@JishSwish We fought the lightning on 18 and barely made it in as we all sprinted up the fairway 😂

@MitchSchwartz71 Oh. You haven’t found the true purists yet I promise, the driver head being too big is definitely an issue on this app 😂

Golf Twitter is weird about random stuff. They hate on mallets over blades, yet have no issues with 460cc driver heads allowing center stripe bombs with terrible strikes. Heaven forbid a putter get a tiny bit more forgiving and it’s all SHRINK and what happened to the game I love

Three confirmed menaces to society: 1) People who drive 1-2 mph under the speed limit. 2) People who drive slowly in the left lane. 3) People who can't adhere to a golf course pace of play requirement. I am willing to wager there's a significant overlap in these 3 populations.

I do not believe the etiquette part here is whether or not you can actually get the ball onto the green. I have turned around to look many times at a ball I heard land that was never getting to the green. Can be distracting if you're putting. Personally wouldn't bother me but people do everything they can in this sport to avoid any and every distraction possible so I think it's pretty fair to wait if you can get it close

@MidwestGolfJake What about people that have no chance of hitting the green in 2 on par 5’s but wait anyway?

@cbadair21 They all "count". Hole in one isn't really about the count tho. There are a few other shots you can hit that are more impressive/ difficult than a hole in one. The cool part about hole in one's are the stories that accompany them. The number/count is meaningless, really.

Does a hole in one count at a par 3 course? I think I solved the debate for us. Golfed recently with a third generation owner of a par 3 course. Asked him, he said “Yes definitely, I would answer that I have one, but it was at a par three course”. Thoughts?

@paraparaumupaul @ryanmouquegolf OP said nothing about chatting and said having smash burgers at the turn (a way to cook a burger), not "smashing burgers". You are pretty far off here my friend

You are not holding anything up if you let them play through. There are multiple ways to do this to limit any extra disruption in pace. But I agree if you're slower because you're chatting and not playing that's much different than being slower because of how you are playing. I play a lot of golf i don't usually see slow play because of talking tho

@CuriousAussieX @ryanmouquegolf 5 hrs is fine if you get out of the way. 5 hrs is not fine if people behind you are playing faster than that and you don't let them play through Pending golf course rules on pace, of course

I don't think so. That's assuming people can just play any time they want which is unrealistic. Just get out of the way if you're slower than the people behind you, morning or afternoon. That includes people playing at a 3.5 hr pace and there's a 3 hr pace behind you. Just get out of the way 🙃

@JishSwish @ryanmouquegolf Different tee times should have different pace timing. Morning = fast and it gets slower as the day goes. You wanna play fast, pick the fast lane. Don’t care, book that afternoon slot. Supply/demand dictates price too!

@Jonny_Fairways @ryanmouquegolf Pride and people thinking there's only one pace to play (their own) are the main problems. Not counting issues with course scheduling/routing obviously. There should be a lot more 4-somes letting other 4-somes play through but I think people feel pretty embarrassed by that

@JishSwish @ryanmouquegolf Yes! It’s a one lane road. If you want to drive slow, pull over occasionally to let the people behind you pass. Don’t act like it’s a challenge to your masculinity or some prideful thing… stop and smell the roses for a bit and keep it moving… or pick up the pace. Either way.
