@TavgenJaroslav @ronsterd89 All Dr Semmelweis asked was that doctors wash their hands on their way from doing an autopsy to examining a perfectly healthy woman who just gave birth. That’s all Wash your lousy germ infested hands. For that Dr Semmelweis was crucified.☹️

UPDATE: The owner of a Memphis pizza restaurant who refused to serve 4 young members of the National Guard is standing by his decision. "On Saturday night, we declined to serve four uniformed members of the Memphis Safe Task Force, and I stand behind that decision completely," said Miles Tamboli, owner of Tamboli's Pizza & Pasta. An eyewitness inside the restaurant said diners cheered when the National Guard troops were kicked out. Tamboli dismissed any concerns. “Four young men were declined service, shrugged, and went to eat somewhere else. They were fine," he told WREG-TV. Our phones lit up with people condemning the restaurant. Check out our podcast: omny.fm/shows/the-todd…

In February 1969, U.S. forces sprayed weed killer from riverboats along the Saigon River in South Vietnam, stripping heavy vegetation that hid VC ambush sites for miles. The defoliant cleared cover used for attacks on shipping and patrols, improving visibility and reducing threats in the dense riverbanks. Operations like this targeted areas where thick jungle provided perfect concealment for enemy fighters.👀

What is the largest body (by surface area) of fresh water in North America? Mostly everyone would say that, at 31,700 sq mi (82,103 sq km), Lake Superior is. However, technically it isn't. There is one that is 13,600 sq mi *larger*. 1/n

@AinsworthKeith Very true words. The UK has a very long recovery period of it ever expects to be a proud, functioning country again. It’s been taken over by a bunch of barbarians & has no will or assist to survive as its own self. So very sad for those who do have the will. Time to jump ship?

NAME THE 1969 COUNTERCULTURE ROAD MOVIE! Can you name the star on the bike Released on this day in 1969, which landmark road film sent two bikers across America with a stash of cash, a star-spangled chopper and a dream of freedom that kept curdling into danger? With desert highways, rock soundtrack cool and a mood that caught the end of the 60s in one long, uneasy ride, it became one of the defining rebel films of its era. Can you name the film — and the actor pictured?

France v Spain is the World Cup's only match between two European teams who have ancient non-Indo-European languages spoken in their countries. The Basque language is at least 4,000 years old, and is still spoken in parts of southern France and northern Spain. Stay tuned for more cutting-edge, geography-based World Cup analysis.

‘I’ve Had It’ co-host Angie Sullivan on homeschooling.... “You would not believe how many people in Bible study homeschool their kids, and you just think, ah, I worry about that.” “I just think homeschooling is a bad idea from soup to nuts. I don’t care if you’re a nuclear physicist. I think it’s just fucking weirdest as fuck that you want your kids around you all day, every day, and all night” “So, I don’t trust somebody that wants to be with their kids 24/7. I think a lot of dumb people do it because it’s just easier, and that’s a concern” “I just can’t think of very many good things about homeschooling.”

New data shows the cost to go to a bowling alley is becoming so unaffordable, it’s out of reach for many American families Private Equity Firms have started buying up bowling alleys and skyrocketing prices A company called Lucky Strike funded by private equity has been on a buying spree and now owns more than 1 in 10 bowling centers nationwide “In a growing number of cities, it can cost more than $150 for a family to bowl for a couple hours on a weekend, which led me to Wichita, Kansas, where locals take their bowling seriously. The city back in 2022 had 4 locally owned bowling centers, Then a Wall Street corporation came to town Lucky Strike. The company, fueled by private equity investments, bought 3 of the 4 bowling centers from the family that had owned them for years and has controlled the majority of lanes in the city ever since.l — The whole thing just feels like a microcosm of the modern American concept of corporate entities buy everything, they take over” Just since 2016 the cost to go bowling has doubled and some reports show it’s more than doubled Private Equity Companies like Bowlero and Lucky Strike now 350+ locations and use data-driven pricing and have reduced traditional leagues in favor of higher-margin entertainment Private equity firms are a literal cancer in America. They destroy every single thing they touch and ruin our way of life These private equity bowling alleys are even using dynamic pricing.. this is insane

London 2026 and Muhammad is just out here herding his four slave wives down the street like it’s a normal Tuesday. Full blackout niqab squad trailing behind him while the red buses keep rolling and everyone pretends this is “enrichment” instead of a walking 7th century harem. He has more wives than most men have personality and the natives are too busy apologising to notice the caliphate bus just pulled up. We reached the finish line it’s actually hilarious at this point.
