15 years ago, I started AppSumo with $50 and a dream to never get a real job. Since then, we’ve promoted thousands of tools, helped creators get rich, and made every mistake in the book (and still making a few). Here are the 9 biggest lessons I’ve learned:

Just felt my first earthquake in Tokyo. Phone alarm was scarier because you don't know what to do and 3 seconds later things are rocking back and forth

Creatives feel like updating their reels/portfolios/websites is a big undertaking. That burden makes it something they don't prioritize. This why you need to be @ongondola. The act of simply tracking your own content means your portfolio is always up to date 🎉

Once you buy a camera, you’d basically want to stay with that system as it’s an expensive cost to switch. So stop asking others what to buy and find out what works for you.

Camera output all look good these days in terms of quality and a variety of focal lens are available from each brand. So honestly, what matters most is your budget and if you *think* or believe a brand is better than another.

If you have to ask the general public what camera you should get, you still don’t know wtf you’re doing (and want/need to shoot). And that’s ok. Here’s what I’d do instead:
