- fixed my posture
- settled a family dispute from 2013
- negotiated peace between neighbours
- achieved cold fusion
- looked at me and sighed

The government needs to intervene more in secondary education around AI use.
I watched my little brother scroll to the bottom of the page on his classwork and wait 2 minutes for the light to turn green. Repeat until reaching the exam. Use AI on the phone to scan questions and get the answer immediately.
I asked him what he is learning and he didn't even know the title after doing this for over an hour. His brain has outsourced the muscle for reading, memorizing, and thinking to a third party device. Red light, green light, continue. Scan, copy and paste.
And the educators have built these online systems in such a way that allows kids to do this very easily. Cannot blame the child for finding the easiest route.
How will the world change when millions of these brains graduate and start participating in the workforce? How will higher education need to maneuver to handle these brains coming in? Maybe I am old fashioned but this seems like a massive problem bomb with a lit fuse.

I hope Zcash resists the dark hand of token voting.
Token voting is bad in all kinds of ways (see vitalik.eth.limo/general/2021/0… ); I think it's worse than Zcash's status quo.
Privacy is exactly the sort of thing that will erode over time if left to the median token holder.

Markets are indeed plutocracies, which is exactly why they are terrible at preserving civil liberties. A plutocracy optimizes for 'number go up' in the short term. If removing privacy pumped the bag 20%, the market would vote for it tomorrow. The 'virtue signaling' you dismiss is actually a 'Values Layer.' It’s the check and balance ensuring the market doesn't sell the protocol's soul for a temporary liquidity boost.

Encrypted messaging, like @signalapp, is critical for preserving our digital privacy. Two important next steps for the space are (i) permissionless account creation and (ii) metadata privacy.

Neither of the two are perfect pieces of software, they have a way to go to get to truly optimal user experience and security. Strong metadata privacy requires decentralization, decentralization is hard, users expecting multi-device support makes everything harder. Sybil / DoS resistance, both in the message routing network and on the user side (without forcing phone number dependence) adds further difficulty.
These problems need more eyes on them. I wish all teams working on these important problems best of luck.
