Correct. Jon Burrows is simply recognising the reality of pre-1973 Northern Ireland. As David Trimble did in 1998. Northern Ireland was a flawed democracy. It certainly wasn’t an ‘apartheid Orange state.’ And its faults certainly didn’t justify violence.
