@walsha Wasn’t T.L. The PA leadership himself? No deal is a deal until it is ratified by the Players… so what you’re upset with is that he did his job negotiating? If it was a bad deal for the players, why did they ratify? And how could that result in one person being held responsible?

Trevor Linden and “presenting a united front” should never be uttered in the same sentence. One of the persons most responsible for going behind the back of NHLPA leadership to strike a deal with Gary on a triple hard salary cap with escrow. Cost players billions of dollars.

@DanRussellST When they acquired him, nobody would have guessed he would end up commanding such a contract that he will. They also did not anticipate the team falling apart. Considering this, he is not the player they are looking to acquire, 30+ and looking for term and $$$. He had to go.

I understand his contract was running out (meaning they now had to) but once again more grit traded away! When they acquired Sherwood (after he punished QH in playoffs) why wasn’t it a priority to extend him? Otherwise why acquire him? Aren’t those the kind of players you want?

@SatiarShah The losses are only part of the tank. There’s work to do and young players that still need development and a light at the end of the tunnel. Do we believe the internal messaging is any more clear than ours? I don’t have that much faith in management

Thats why players/coaches want out, and it’s why a lot of fans want changes. No more masking the issues, real change

@AndehWahl Right, so then the issue for you isn’t that folks want Petey out, it’s that you side with the presumed quick or hybrid rebuild management seems to prefer. I think there’s many fans that believe the rot in the room needs to be removed before this team can truly succeed again.

A lot of deranged #Canucks fans are trying to run Elias Pettersson out of town, and your opinions are your own, but let me remind you about something. Teams aren't trading their 1Cs to you. You'd have to find them through the draft. The odds of finding 1Cs in the draft? Extremely slim. Vancouver hit a home run in the 2017 draft in getting Pettersson, who still leads his draft year despite going 5th overall. While I often understand the frustration about him, you need to remind yourself that there is no 1C in the pipeline, and even if they hit the jackpot and get McKenna... he's a winger. Stop the hatred. Give criticism where criticism is due, and credit where credit is due, and trust me when I say I agree with a lot of criticism surrounding Pettersson at times, but for your own sake stop trying to run people out of town that you might not be able to replace in your lifetime.

It’s not as “surfacy” as if we had this/that player, it’s about do we have a team or do we have a collection of hockey players. The drama has obviously gone further than EP40 and Miller. The room is fractured

I say yes. But they had Quinn Hughes and were dead last. So one player -- even a good player like Bo -- wouldn't likely have made this situation *a lot* better. Less drama. But not necessarily many more wins

@SadClubCommish Players themselves aren’t supposed to be “team tank” but that was one of the most pathetic efforts I’ve seen from this group. The gutting needs to be expedited. Tank, sure… no efforts, unacceptable.

A hybrid rebuild with this group is insanity. Except for the goalie who can’t stay healthy, there’s not a single game breaker under contract. No true 1C. No true top winger. No true 1D. Good luck with the hybrid rebuild.

@sekeresandprice Let’s be real, does nobody remember losing in 94? and then a second and a half later Van has Mike Keenan and Mark Messier both just fracturing the room and leading the franchise anywhere but up. Losing Hughes blows, but we hated those NYR, and then they were us… that was dark.
