I went to physical therapy on and off for the better part of 15 years. None of it helped me in any way besides vestibular PT after brain tumor extraction for balance and dizziness. Every orthopedic session was short sighted on passive treatment and stretching tight muscles.

Ass to ankles on squats and hacks to avoid being the guy who spends 20 minutes wrapping his knees before every set only to move the weight 2 inches. Less weight and more depth is the way. Your knees and quads will thank you later.

@Brandon_L_Davis 100% agreed, and this is even more true of physical therapists. PT shows some fancy looking hip mobility drills where you'd be better off just doing a couple of light warm up sets with a barbell for your back squat.

Here’s a hot take Most dynamic warmups are more about making the S&C coach look smart and important than they are about the purpose of a warmup (to increase body temperature and prepare you to train) Skipping 3 laps around a gym and running a warmup sprint is equally effective.

@AdamMeakins I think the perfect balance is having these methods in place but also understanding that they aren’t the panacea they are made out to be. They give you good systems and structure to follow but we need to understand there is more nuance to pain and patients.

Tell me I’m wrong! As soon as you see Mulligan, McKenzie, Maitland, IFOMPT, MACP, NKT, FMS, DNS, PRI, FP, etc etc after a therapist’s name, start to suspect they reason and act from allegiance to a method, not from evidence, logic, or independent thought!
