@HdxAcademy @sentientist @Aella_Girl Not getting IRB approval is such a red flag, I don't care how many "data points" you have (which is a really weird metric for someone in academia to use for describing the value of work, by the way).

@linguistMasoud As someone who has published in Academia and who now publishes for a private company with reported conflict of interest, YOU CAN STILL GET IRB APPROVAL. Ethics don't fly out the window just because you're funded by private sources, I have no idea what she is talking about...

I don't think bypassing peer review by "publishing in a blog" is gonna help science or the society. If anything, we need more rigorous and systematic reviews of arguments and methods in papers to make sure science is on firm grounds. And bypassing IRB is even worse

My first industry white paper - still sharing my data though! More evidence that exposure to the Cascade Format can lead to improvements in reading comprehension. I've been nose-down for quite a while, but the first months of 2025 should have a lot of research to share!

Finally got around to using @Prolific for studies and honestly, it's amazing. Much fewer data removed for performance reasons, very intuitive interface for launching studies, great way of tracking progress. Definitely going to be using going forward for online studies.

Meaningful update showing the scientific and eductional promise of Cascade Reading for reading comprehension and language learning. Plenty of work still ahead, but glad to see that dedication to evidence-based product development pays off!

@jgeller_phd @Prolific I'm using a private Ibex server, but there's no guarantee participant IDs will match between sessions from that alone - participant IDs should work!

First time using @Prolific, and it's a multiple session study so I need to have a way of linking data for participants across different studies. Is there a unique identifier that every user has that I can ask them to enter in at the consent form? What is it called?
