The KRA Board has appointed Mr. Adan Mohamed, EGH, as the new Commissioner General of the Kenya Revenue Authority. With over 30 years of leadership across banking, consulting, and public service, he is well-positioned to drive revenue mobilisation and deepen taxpayer trust.
Congratulations to Mr. Adan Mohamed, EGH, on his appointment as Commissioner General of KRA. We wish him success as he takes on this important role in serving taxpayers and supporting Kenya's development.

Adan is 62½ years old. The mandatory retirement age for the job he's been given is STRICTLY 60. This is backed by state directives and high court judgments. A term extension is not applicable to a non incumbent. Even then, such an "extension" would contravene the law.
Interestingly the applicant must be aware of this & if he has any integrity (as is expected of a person seeking such a job) he'd not have applied and now that he's against all ethics landed the job, should decline. But we know he will not do such a thing. He will grab the job and still lay claim to possession of the highest integrity. That's how low we have descended. A man desecrating the values of the land while demanding respect.
In civilised countries where such things used to happen, legislators came up with an all-encompassing law declaring all decisions made by an unqualified person null & void. The nullity extends from him to all his subordinates. Thus, appointing such a person renders the institution he heads as impotent as a castrated bull. We should explore that.

@amenya_nelson True statement..let's address the cartel and corruption
English

There is no fuel crisis in Kenya. What we are witnessing is the unbearable cost of theft. The burden of corruption has become too heavy for the ordinary mwananchi to carry.
The same politicians who masquerade as liberators of the people would rather watch Kenyans suffer, sink deeper into poverty, and struggle to survive while they loot public funds meant to provide relief in moments like this. They would rather funnel money into offshore accounts and buy overpriced properties in global capitals than stand with the mama mbogas, bodas, hustlas who believed in the dream they sold and gave them power.
And Parliament, sits in silence. MPs lament on television and social media as though they are helpless spectators, yet they possess the constitutional power to legislate, provide oversight, and shield wananchi from exploitation. Their silence has a price and that price has been paid by public funds at the expense of Wanjiku.

We are strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan, through the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), in the energy sector, particularly in oil and gas, and renewable energy, as part of Kenya’s drive to attract strategic investment to expand energy generation.
We aim to leverage SOCAR’s expertise in the exploration and production of natural gas and renewable energy to realise Kenya’s ambition of generating 10,000MW of electricity in the next decade.
Held talks with SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf on the sidelines of the World Urban Forum in Baku.
We explored the possibility of SOCAR investing in the proposed East African oil refinery.

@C_NyaKundiH Mbadi ..just blimey others ODM experts are the worst ministers

Mbadi, talking about the Road Maintenance Levy when Kenyans now know potholes by memory is the height of imbecilic arrogance.
Citizen TV Kenya@citizentvkenya
CS John Mbadi: There is a Road Maintenance Levy included in the price of fuel. If it were removed, would matatu operators be willing to drive on roads full of potholes?

This is an mp who voted for 2024 finance bill, we should not allow such leaders to infiltrate our protest.

Comoros🇰🇲 government now suspends new fuel prices introduced in response to the Iran war, backing down after the hikes, diesel prices by 46% and gasoline prices by 35%, prompted demonstrations and deadly clashes across the East African archipelago.
"The government and President Azali (Assoumani) heard the cries of the Comorian people. There was no other solution than to listen to them. The goal is to preserve peace," Energy Minister Aboubacar Saïd Anli announces.
President Azali suspended the decrees related to the fuel price hike, which were introduced on May 9, to allow for talks on the matter.

@sholard_mancity We ha e allowed this nonsense from political leaders for long.Gadys just expose the rotten lot
English

Sam: How come you’re unable to join us in the studio? MP Gladys Boss: Maybe he uses matatus
That short exchange on Citizen TV said a lot.
That one statement exposed everything wrong with some Kenyan leaders.
Imagine mocking a Kenyan for using the same matatus that millions rely on every single day to survive this economy.
Teachers use matatus.
Nurses use matatus.
Students use matatus.
The same wananchi they beg votes from use matatus.
So what exactly was the joke?
But honestly, this is not new from Gladys Shollei.
This is the same person I exposed before over attempts in Parliament to make public participation reports less accessible to wananchi.
The arrogance.
The entitlement.
The disconnect.
Then, during campaigns, they suddenly remember “the common mwananchi.”

English

No matatu should be on the road tomorrow.
No truck should be on the road tomorrow.
No personal vehicles should be on the road tomorrow.
No bodaboda, including electric ones, should be on the road tomorrow.
Even the planes should join the strike.
Let's all walk tomorrow.
William Ruto can't be the best thing that ever happened to this country.
