@hankgreen I think it's so scary to make kids hand over their phones. Just like others say, there could be an emergency (like a shooting) where they really need to reach someone. And if their phones are put away, there's a good chance they can't get it, or fight with others before hiding.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a high school teacher at a school with a new “no phones in the classroom policy” and he said that he had to do something this week that he hasn’t had to do in years — ask students to stop talking.
