Congrats to our neighbors at @CarmelClayParks on earning an award for the Bur Oak Bridge! 🏆 The bridge spans the White River and connects Hazel Landing Park in Carmel to Heritage Park in Fishers, creating a scenic link for walkers, runners, and cyclists while connecting several regional trail systems. Construction on 116th St & Allisonville Rd improvement is expected to begin on/after Mar 30 thru Oct 2026, weather permitting, to lengthen left turn lanes in both directions, replace sidewalks and ramps, and upgrade traffic signals to improve traffic flow & safety for drivers turning north onto Allisonville. A program that brings every @hseschools fourth grader to @connerprairie for hands on learning started as a City of Fishers funded pilot in 2018, and today it continues to give students a unique classroom experience outside school walls. Through activities across the historic grounds, students explore science, engineering, and Indiana history in a truly immersive way. Fishers photographer Brian Brosmer has created a new mural celebrating the history of our city, now on display inside the lounge at Parks Place Pub near City Hall. The piece features historic images that highlight the people and moments that helped shape Fishers, including its early beginnings dating back to the arrival of Salathiel Fisher in the 1870s. Last night, the City of Fishers and @HSESchools announced a $3.6M investment in athletic field improvements at Fishers High School & Hamilton Southeastern High School to support student-athletes and youth leagues. We’re also excited to welcome Jim Self as the new City & District Athletic Director, helping lead a citywide strategy to strengthen coordination between the city, schools, and local sports organizations.
