Yet another “funny” story about the Spanish administration. In 2018 I bought a small commercial space in Barcelona for €16K. I paid the 10% "Impuesto de Transmisiones Patrimoniales", signed at the notary, and registered the property. Everything was accepted without objection. Two years later, Hacienda sent me a letter saying I owed them more money. According to their calculations, the property was actually worth €28K, based on the "valor catastral" and the coefficients they apply. So they recalculated the tax on that amount instead of the real sale price, and asked me to pay the difference, plus interest. Here is what I find fascinating. If I had paid €50K for that shop, I would have had to pay 10% of €50K. There is no ceiling when the sale price is higher. But because I bought it for less than their abstract valuation, the real sale price became irrelevant. So if you overpay, the price is real. But if you get a good deal, the government decides what "real value" should have been.

mi sensación desde que he empezado a jugar con replit/claude es que alguien con background de producto que use estas herramientas es ya más rápido montando cosas que un dev average que es reacio a usar AI. veo en mi curro que hay cosas a las que siempre me ponen pegas, o se dice que es "high effort", y que luego las hago yo con un prompt en claude. a la vez veo que los top devs, los que usan AI, tendrán aún más valor. seguramente me pierda algo, pero es mi sensación.

Voy a volver a repetirlo por si no ha quedado suficientemente claro: Desde 2017, el gasto público se ha incrementado en un 50% (+25% ajustado a inflación). La presión fiscal ha aumentado 4pp del PIB y la recaudación +70% (+35% ajustado a inflación). No es una cuestión del nivel de impuestos o de gasto, es una cuestión de dónde se dirige ese gasto y de su eficacia (ya no hablamos ni de la eficiencia).
