People are very eager to come up with justifications for this practice — you can already see it in the replies to this thread. I understand them, but I also think that they're the result of productivity brainworms, and you're doing a real disservice to others in your organization

REST WHEN YOU'RE SICK!! Seriously! Your value as a person is not tied to how productive you are.

11. So very low cost, and if it keeps a round of COVID out of my family, very large benefit. I guess what people should ask themselves is why they are so enraged to see someone perfectly happy in a comfortable yet protective mask while working outside of the house.

8. The question you might ask is: Come on, is it really worth it? How high is the risk of getting or giving COVID in your office? What I would say is that the price to pay is very small, and the benefit hard to estimate in probability but very high in impact.

6. Now, there are 2 reasons to wear a mask - to protect me from you, and to protect you from me. My wife treats COVID patients, many unmasked, and my kids go to mask-optional schools. So I could be a source at any point, and I would rather not infect my department.

4. COVID is transmitted through the air via aerosols, and can linger for a long time. So just because a person isn’t there now doesn’t mean there is no COVID in the air.

After months of work my collections policy was finally officially approved!! I'm feeling quite chuffed.

Labour voted against it. It’s a disservice to the communities that we serve to create a cost of living payment that excludes people on the benefit and under 18’s, who continue facing cost of living pressures. We need liveable incomes for all now!

Oh wow, I passed out watching Stargate SG1 last night and this blew up. Folks wanna see sticks, so here's my stick closet (from two months ago there's so much more now). My partner says I also have to mention the sticks on my porch, & the scavenged wood in my living room

I've run into autistic kids or kids I suspect are autistic while taking my kid to the playground. The parents are visibly so relieved when their kid is being ~weird~ & I'm like "yeah I do that too/have sensory issues/look at my collection of sticks" & they don't have to square up

@Writagal I'd like to add, if anyone wants to adapt this wording for their own workplace Covid protection policy, go for it!

@Writagal Required, except for lunch breaks which are taken in the kitchenette with no other staff present. (It's a tiny room)

Kia ora - what is your workplace policy on masks? Strongly encourage? Wear as much as possible? Shared areas only? Has anyone updated their language to recommend “at all times, when indoors” yet?

We understand however that our statement overlooked the importance of Indigenous communities being able to connect with and wear museum objects from their community. 4/9
