@cjosephy @Ben_Kelemen @jeffreyzimmet @rickshunk @ftmileycathlab Teaching procedural skills (while sometimes stressful) is certainly one of the most rewarding things that we do. As an educator, not much gives more satisfaction than seeing your trainees "fly solo".

After we are more comfortable with it, you will do it when it does matter.

@PinakShahMD The cath lab is where IM grads learn the basics of vascular (arterial and venous access), coronary anatomy, invasive hemos, and fluoroscopic relationships of structures in addition to the indications/complications of invasive procedures.

Three potentially unpopular takes: 1. It’s ok if one has never seen (or refuses to see) the Sound of Music. 2. Birkenstocks were a bad idea. 3. In 2022, not every cardiology fellow should be required to learn to do a cath. Discuss.
