@TreanorFergal @Urghativity So Chomsky 2005 proposes domain-general principles can account for aspects of language and provide a way to gradually shrink UG. Biberauer 2017 on Factors 2 and 3 is probably the closest thing I've seen to eliminating UG, and it also has some discussion on the state of the field

@Bran_Pap Can I have a scissors is seems to be grammatical for (some) older speakers in the US. My dad (from St. Louis) and his work colleague from Southern Illinois have it, and a professor at Maryland from Pennsylvania has it.
