A4. Yes I agree because I am a little slower with the tech so I always appreciate others who are Patient with me. I am also adding the Grace for myself as well. #NPSDCHAT

A4: It’s so hard to pick one! I think grace will be the most important. 7th grade transition is always a huge leap but adding virtual learning on top will be even more challenging for Ss and parents. And I know I won’t be perfect a teaching online either! #npsdchat

A3: I thinking building those relationships and creating a virtual classroom conversation is integral to maximizing learning. Whole class, small group, group projects, and 1:1 meetings will provide more meaningful learning. (Along with more project-based assessments.) #npsdchat

@LomasNpsd Absolutely! I think directions sometime get misinterpreted so providing very clear directions and objectives is key for student success! #npsdchat

A2. It is going to be more important than ever to pinpoint desired outcome and design lessons around it. No time for anything else. Talking to previous Ts and using baseline testing to see where kids are will help. #npsdchat

A2: Virtual learning innately puts the power in the learners hands - our job is to further tap into that! Ts can provide Ss opportunities to make their learning visible and relevant through more project/rubric-based assessments. #npsdchat

@DeNpsd @CanvasLMS has some really great tools to easily differentiate for Ss of different abilities!

A1:The biggest shift for me will be figuring out how to provide differentiated learning opportunities in an asynchronous setting while using a new platform. #NPSDCHAT

@kerrykomarov Agree! I think we should add it to our beginning of the year “training.” We teach Ss our class schedule and routine, can we teach/educate them to create a learning space at home? #npsdchat

A1. Lack of consistency in educational setting will be a challenge for Ss. Ts can guide them to find a clear & peaceful place to work, but we can’t provide one for them :( #NPSDCHAT

@CarolynBarrH Agreed! I know many Ss/families really liked the flexible scheduling offered in the spring virtual. But I think Ss also need consistency and routine. How do we balance needs?

#NPSDCHAT A1: I believe the challenges will be, “Scheduling dependent on family needs” primarily due to parents' professional workload. Parents may not have time to support students, especially elementary level when help is needed. Students may not be able to actively engage.

A1: the most challenging shift will be creating “intentionally designed check-in & feedback systems.” We create rubrics to provide Ss with feedback but going back to our previous chat - feedforward needs to happen throughout the process. #npsdchat
