Little stupid dialogue for you: “Evening, Sister.” “Evening.” “You have a sister?” “What? How’d you know?” “You called her sister.” “Well, of course.” “So she’s your sister.” “She’s a nun.” “Oh.” “The nun get up?” “Yeah, guess that makes sense.” “She is also my sister, though.”

I feel like sissy & bubby are somewhat more common/natural in real life since they ultimately function as familiar nicknames rather than titles But I also don’t really think this is a big problem in fiction. Sure, they are more skillful/less awkward ways to do it, but it’s fast
epic@epiicalyx

do people in real life ever actually call eachother sis or sister. or bro/brother. they always make people do this in fiction but i have Never actually heard it in real life. what is this phenomenon

@OrganizerMemes Virtue signaling by way of vice signaling, in some cases. Wild combination (I mean, not really since it’s just pretending to have a moral justification for the vice they want to indulge in, but still)

Funny watching the people who spend so much time trying to prove how much more left they are than me immediately get called Libs by even more extreme left voices it's just a constant virtue signal competition

I read the first sentence and the half second my brain needed to go “not in the gay way” was WILD

(shhh but this is actually a defense of the ending and the fact that so many have asked "what was the point" a bit ironically, as that question is... sort of the point lol)

But then that would ruin the whole point of the populist movement, I guess, which is just to give people a pretend-justification to be assholes all the time

I do wonder how much of this unending discourse is people just being entirely unwilling to consider that it’s bad to be an asshole, and maybe it’s perfectly reasonable to dislike someone/not want them to hold heavy influence *because they are an asshole*
Jarred Corona@jmc2016

This is bad (populist blowhards whose entire selling point is vice-signaling that their audiences take as permission to engage in cruelty themselves) but also yes, seemingly inevitable at the moment. We should, of course, work to fix this by rightfully condemning cruelty.

Which is a segue to saying, once again, the political future belongs to those who make and fund art. Find theatres, run local arts campaigns, make short films, be vulnerable, and for gods sake, never read the comments

Though on the Sartre subject (lol), I would actually be interested to see what sort of play Hasan would write. To be fair, I feel this way about literally every human - What would they put to stage? What poetry lives in their brain?

This place is filled with fascinating thoughts: preferring quotation marks in prose is baby shit; Hasan is the new Sartre; if I’m reflecting on the blowjob, and you’re reflecting on the blowjob, who the hell is living in the moment and enjoying the mouthfeel?
