This is why I always wonder how many people watch old movies. I like this shot of Palpatine's office because you have this nice old-fashioned tableau of all these interesting characters (I especially like the suggestive way Palpatine is positioned in the shot), and you have an amazing blue-tinted view of Coruscant out of this huge (and probably sort of iconic now) elliptical window which contrasts with the red walls. I also like this rear-projection shot of Moses, Aaron, and Pharaoh in front of the Nile as it turns to blood--even though it honestly looks kind of fake--for similar aesthetic reasons. And this was specifically the kind of old-fashioned Hollywood epic style Lucas was seeking to emulate. Whether people want to concede this or not, this was a huge factor in people thinking the prequels looked stupid and weird, because virtually no one else at the time was bold enough to commit to doing something like this. It wasn't just the CGI or the digital camera people were reacting to.

Star Wars is about maintaining your moral character in the face of adversity and even defeat. Victory is not achieved by compromising those morals or taking up the torch of those who did.
