i think its good to talk about the impermanent nature of relationships within a relationship. every long lasting and committed relationship is actually many different relationships between two people who change a bunch over the course of their lives

@lucareverie There are also new beautiful buildings, but they are outnumbered to these types 10-1, so I don't really buy that.

@jmkettle They’re mostly like this because of NIMBY red tape and regulations. Height maxes, parking minimums, SQFT minimums, stairwell requirements, etc, all confine new builds to lowest cost materials and boxy designs.

I think I'd be more of a YIMBY if every new building wasn't a contest to build the ugliest structure currently known to humanity.

@jmkettle Weirdly after the early-mid 1900’s the world seems to have forgotten how to make any beautiful architecture

Keep in mind, this is in Boerum Hill, perhaps the most beautiful neighbourhood in the world. And this building is now just a blight for the entire block.
