@jmoore The specific chronological placement of the events of "Ojai" isn't massively important in either version but yeah it's about the same in both. That chapter happens in parallel with, or some time after, the events of the first half of the story, and about a year before the second

Probably going to DNF “We Love You, Bunny”. Which makes me sad, because I loved the first book so much. But the way this one is written grates on my nerves. I’m not sure what the author was thinking with this narrative style.

This still clears as one of the greatest moments ever caught on film. I actually can’t fathom it sometimes.

Ari Aster made the first truly modern film. It’s a miracle Eddington exists. Truly one of the most depraved endings I’ve ever seen. I loved it.

uh oh I liked EDDINGTON, aka NO COUNTRY FOR WOKE MEN, where Aster dreamcatches every partisan paranoia into a suburban absurdist nightmaria with mask jokes. this isn’t both-sidesing so much as restaging the insanity of the 2020s to riotous extreme. some surprisingly solid action!

Pumped to see EDDINGTON while also wary that it might be a little Both-Sides-y? Like, is this going to be a film that says “Hey, Americans all need to just listen to each other more”? Am I supposed to feel bad for not listening to antivaxers and Nazis?

this book is in my Canon of great books, and it got re-written and is now formally getting published. If you complain about how there’s no new ideas anymore, or you’re tired of IP trash, get this sucker on pre-order. Absolute mind melter.
