If You’re a Club Member, Munster Championship Tickets Should Come Your Way First
Tipp v Cork.
Semple Stadium.
4 o’clock on Sunday, April 17th.
This game is going to sell out, without question. Last year’s Munster Championship ran at 92% capacity across all games, and demand is only going one way.
There’s even been talk in the background of some eejits wanting this fixture moved out of Semple Stadium and into Croke Park. That tells you everything about the appetite for tickets.
Which brings us to the bottom line.
Munster Championship tickets should not go on general sale until clubs are fully catered for. Club members should have first call on everything. No Fastest Finger on Ticketmaster scramble. No money leaking out of the GAA ecosystem to a non Irish owned company.
Put the tickets through the clubs. Reward the people who pay their membership every year.
Pay your club membership and you support your club directly. It’s a boon to the club, it keeps the lights on, funds coaching, facilities, underage teams, and in return you get access to tickets through the proper channels.
That’s the way it should be.
The clubs need your money.
Club members first. Ticketmaster last
