I continually hear this narrative:
"LeBron was only favored in 3 of 10 Finals which proves he had the worse team and that's why he doesn't have as many rings as MJ."
Really? Then how about the fact that LeBron was the favorite to win the championship in 2009 and 2010, but instead suffered two of biggest upsets in Playoff history?
- Biggest upset in Conference Finals history in 2009 (-700 favorite)
- 4th biggest upset in Conference Semi-Finals history in 2010 (-480 favorite)
Or does being the favorite only count when it fits the narrative?
If you get knocked out early as a heavy favorite, you don't get to use "Finals underdog" as a shield.
