A franchise that exploded on the scene almost 30 years ago,still reaching comparable heights of Pokemania! Pokemon is still alive and thriving. It’s stood a huge test of time.People trashing it now because it doesn’t look like a PS5 game are only hurting it,and hopefully don’t do permanent damage by fooling the younger generation into not liking it. Talk about“conversations that the Pokemon community isn’t ready to have”… SV was buggy and they should and will fix that. BUT other than that, Pokémon games have always been around that same quality. Their games were always seen as “behind”,yet they always defied that criticism- because Pokemon isn’t about that- it’s about a love for the monsters designs, and collecting and battling them, and living in the Pokemon world! X & Y was my least favorite gen because the lack of content and Pokemon which were sacrificed for “3D game and new models”. But the idea of “TPCI is successful so now we’ll never get another good Pokemon game because all modern Pokemon games are bad” is silly. BW was the most unpopular Pokemon game for many reasons, DPP was incredibly slow paced and dull, etc. my point is there’s always something that can be picked out to make Pokemon games “bad games”. SM was so refreshing while paying homage. SWSH was magical in design and battles. Even SV was a really wonderful game looking past the bugs🤷🏼‍♂️ For better or worse Gamefreak has their game creating philosophy that they stick to- and one of those is trying new things to make exciting new enjoyable journeys. So I’m not worried about them I’m just super thankful that I get to be a part of such a huge, beautiful, and lasting phenomenon.
