@cultofpedagogy It depends. I have rich, collaborative relationships with many of the teachers at my school. We create lessons, brainstorm new ideas, and co-teach in the library and the classroom. We're partners. Others think I'm the minder of a room.

School librarians have often mentioned to me that they feel underutilized by Ts in their schools, and if Ts only knew the resources librarians could provide, it would be a game-changer. If you are a school librarian, can you (1) verify and (2) say more about this?

On Monday, ALA and @aasl sent a letter to Houston Independent School District officials and the Texas Education Commissioner in response to their decision to eliminate school librarians and convert 28 school libraries to detention centers.
