There's varying information on the actual temperature of the 1990 Pontiac Excitement 400 at Richmond -- the coldest race in NASCAR history -- but after the engines are fired, Ken Squier says: "It's warmed up to about 32 degrees." So even though some online reports have the temp of that race in the 20s, it appears 32 is the mark based on this: youtu.be/rcU8b_vT_wk?si…

@jeff_gluck It starts from the top. All of the leaders at NASCAR need to remember who they are and their identity as NASCAR is. Look at what stakeholders, teams, team owners, drivers, TV, the media, sponsors, tracks, and the fans want from NASCAR.

Alright, so here's the question of the day for you. When I talk to people around the NASCAR industry, a lot of the conversations are about how angry the fan base is. Everyone sees it (and this was well before everything boiled over on Sunday). So...how does that get fixed? How does NASCAR move forward at this point in a way where a year from now, the dialogue here is less vitriolic and you guys are back to having more fun and enjoying the sport again?
I'm not naive enough to think X will ever be a happy place, but I am an optimist and believe this year could be a low point -- which means there are better days ahead.
So what needs to happen for NASCAR to have its "Nature is Healing!" moment with the core fan base? I know a lot of the replies will simply be "change the championship format!" but if we're honest with ourselves, the issues run deeper than that.
What's your take? What will restore your enjoyment level? I'm all ears.

#Vikings QB Kevin Oconnell, from Thursday, on why he didn’t put Max Brosmer in over Carson Wentz:
“Carson's a veteran player, and he understands some of our circumstances. I think it's very difficult to ask (Brosmer) to go in there for his first performance and have to be weathering it a little bit for the group.”
“The confidence we have in Max, and the upside we see in Max is real, we also don’t want to send him out there and force a level of figure it outness that’s probably beyond a guy playing for the first time. That was kind of where the decision was to continue to go with Carson as long as Carson felt like he was healthy enough to keep playing, and the medical team did as well.”

Congrats to Nashville on winning the US Open Cup.
Whether #MNUFC would’ve beaten them if they had won that semi-final, we’ll never know. But, Nashville was always gonna be tough for either of the Loons or Austin. They are a fantastic team and ended up winning in the end.
