On Friday 12 July 2019, at their farm Bloubos near Boshof in the Free State, elderly couple Sakkie van der Berg (67) and Ina van der Berg (62) were overpowered. Attackers waited at the farm gate, overpowered Sakkie as he returned after dropping off a worker, forced him back to the farmhouse, and overpowered Ina there too. The couple was then tied up inside their home. They were brutally assaulted and tortured. Reports indicate Sakkie’s hands were chopped off during the torture. Both were murdered with a blunt object. Their bodies were discovered the next morning (Saturday 13 July) by a concerned neighbouring farmer in the kitchen area of the house. These details are heartbreaking and show the extreme cruelty they faced in what should have been the safe years of their lives.

I'm sorry, but you absolutely do NOT need a car in NYC. Unless you have a very special definition of "need." Only 54% of NYC households have a car. Only 23% of Manhattan households have a car For half the city, cars are more trouble than they're worth.
